Range Rules

  1. All rifles to be signed over to the duty range conductor on arrival. Rifles will only be returned to someone who can prove they may legally posses them.
  2. Only rifles of .22 calibre are allowed.
  3. Only ammunition supplied by Potterne Rifle Club to be used on the range.
  4. No ammunition to be removed from the range.
  5. Rifles capable of being loaded with more than 1 (one) round of ammunition are strictly forbidden.
  6. Visiting teams may bring no more than 4 (four) rifles.
  7. Range conductors word is final.
The above rules are designed to help maintain very high levels of safety during shooting events in the George and Dragon Inn. Failure to completely comply with the above rules will result in further action being taken.

Competition Rules

The full league rules can be found on the official league website at http://22rifles.system64.net.
However the basics are:

  1. Nine shots are fired by each contestant.
  2. The first two shots are sighters and are not to be counted.
  3. The remaining seven shots are to be scored 4 for a miss and 5 for a hit - this makes the scores comparable to a range with a paper target.
  4. Only single action rifles of .22 calibre with open sights may be used.
  5. The rifle must be fully supported by the contestant, but the forearm can be rested.
