Amenity Skips are available once a month at various locations for villagers to use. This is a great resource and often they become full fairly quickly. So the council are stopping the service - maybe we don't pay enough coucil tax?

"Cessation of Amenity Skip Scheme

This much used scheme will end on 31st March 2004 as it no longer meets Central Governments re-cycling objectives. We would encourage you to use Neighbourhood Re-Cycling facilities one of which is at present located at Bowerhill, Melksham.

We are advised that the Hopton Industrial Estate re-cycling area will be operational in the new year."
