Notes of the Parish Council AGM held on June 12th 2002 in Potterne Village Hall.

Kennet District Council has written to the Parish Council, reminding them that the Code of Conduct which they have accepted must be advertised. The Parish Council has decided that an overview of the Code that they have accepted will be put into the village magazine.

Wiltshire County Council has responded to the Clerks letter concerning 30 mph speed limits. Amendments to speed restrictions are made annually, and so extending the 30 mph limit in the village will be considered in Spring 2003.

Due to the Declarations of Interest, the Chairman, Mr C Hoddinott, will be on the planning sub-committee as an advisor only. This is due to his role in representing the Parish at District level, and the interests that he has to declare.

In the open session it was brought to the attention of the Council that the drains in Mill Lane need to be cleared and the footpaths below Brownleaze Cemetery have been planted with maize.

The rumour that has been circulating concerning the bus shelter being erected in the High Street is incorrect.

Devizes and District Link has invited Councillors to their Annual General Meeting on June 24th.

Wiltshire County Council Highways Department has relocated to Marlborough, so that all the Highways staff are located in the same building.

Kennet District Council has written to the Parish Council informing them that there is a BT Computer Offer. This is open to village organizations to apply for. It has been suggested that this letter gets passed on to Potterne.net.

The DTLR have submitted a Consultation Paper on Local Investigation and Determination of Misconduct Allegations. Comments need to be submitted to the DTLR by July 1st, the Paper will be put on the Agenda for the July meeting.

Kennet District Council has granted planning permissions to Wick Farm for the demolition of farm buildings; and Whistley Farm Bungalow for the erection of a garage block. Planning refusals have gone to 25 Blounts Court for the erection of a garage; and Wick Farm for the conversion of an agricultural building to a dwelling.
